That's a wonderful poem, John. Truly. Very nice ending.

Thank you for the good word! This is one I don't think I'd posted anywhere before sending it off. It was fun to write, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Caleb, I get the impression the editor there has quite specific tastes (as do we all). If you'd like to publish there, I'd suggest looking at a couple of issues and playing to that! Of course, you may already have done that, in which case I'm just blowing hot air. :)
