Hi folks,
I've got a poem in The Ekphrastic Review today, about a Duccio painting: https://www.ekphrastic.net/

The Ekphrastic Review - Duccio
Thank you, Phil - yes, I do believe every face is worthy of transcendence. I posted this on another poetry website a couple of years ago and had a violently negative reaction to that fish image from a critic there, so i am pleased it caught your eye! I feel vindicated.
Cheers,
John

Hi David,
Very likely!
Ah yes, does it actually work? The eternal question! I saw the fish being thus lifted into air not ten yards from me while swimming in a Swiss lake long ago. And that is how I perceived it, or at least, that happened to my memory. I can see the hawk and the fish now, and feel the water.
I'm glad you like the poem! I like Duccio, I have a couple of poems about him.
Cheers,
John
