Hi folks,

I've got two poems up at The Dirigible Balloon today, my first children's publications. Morph seems to be up there as well, or rather his children are:

Why, thank you, Phil! Children's verse is hard IMO, so I am quite chuffed.

Cheers,
John

Hi John,

This is great news, the balloon has even more lustre now you're on it too. My girls poems went up early last month.

On the subject of children's verse being hard, I just think there's a different set of rules and expectations. For example, Little Thoughts Press editor said she loved my tooth fairy poem and it made her final round but lost out to another similar poem. I didn't get any further feedback but I suspect I should avoid using French in my children's poems in future. Jonathan may be interested in that one but I didn't want to quick fire it somewhere else on the rebound when a lot of these Children's pubs are all linked up through Twitter shares.

It is a shiny balloon! Or montgolfiere, as the French say!

I expect you are right that French should appear in moderation in children's poetry. Best of luck with the tooth fairy poem, I enjoyed it!

Cheers,
John
