Who will be my Valentine?
Who will come and say they're mine?
I hope it's you, if you have time
to write with me and be so kind.

There are two weeks, about, or so,
untie your tongue, now don't be slow

And don't be shy, the day's not long
enough to hum and haw
and cough.

Lol. Yes, you may roll your eyes as you post a Valentine on this thread. Serious or silly. Come play.

Hi Suzanne

I know it's past the big day now. But thought I'd share something I wrote for the occasion.

og

We all need a sense of belonging,
an irrefutable proof;
through the thick and thin of fad diets,
as we journey away from our youth,

with the waxing and waning of fortune,
the ebbing and flowing of friends,
assurance at each new beginning,
consolation at life’s bitter ends,

during questions and crises of conscience,
as we search for a path less well-trod,
when we’re reading a fictional romance,
when we’re wondering if there’s a God.

Do you need a sense of belonging?
I indisputably do.
So before you think to ask me,
can I belong to you?

Thanks Og. Nice to see you around. It was a nice poem with meaning.

I got busy and could not post anything for Valentine's Day either. But here is something I wrote a year ago or so. It fits the Valentine idea.

Hmmmm...

Mister, I like to read you-
my wishful eyes explore,
I watch and wait so hopefully
for you to bring us more.

More zings, more zip, more clever lines-
more you upon the page!
I often peek to see if you
are here, dear Valentino sage.

But talk to you? No, I don't dare!
You're mean and awfully rude,
sometimes your humour is a fright-
ful shame and even crude.

But you, dear Boy, you Mystery,
do push my buttons when
I let myself just take the time
to wander threads you've been.

lol.

Next year I'll write a Valentine's Day Sonnet, yes!
I better get working on it now.
