After ten months it came down to this

Started as always with rumours of moles
digital dirt scattered on drives
a message in notepad 'thanks for teh lolz'

Down at the bus stop no one arrives,
over and over until much later.
we shrug our shoulders, holster our knives.

I visit the drop box for news from Slater,
discover a squirrel making a dray
from a cardboard box and shedded paper.

The trail grows cold and fades away
as heaven witholds a deluge of clues.
A bus arrives six states away

A women steps down among smoke and blues
and stubs a cigarette with stilleto shoes.
