Words, words, words..... the joy of words. I have always wanted to do this, so why not now, I thought?


Impetuous

Against the wall, the cool brick,
against the the predicted impetuous
acts of his past, he stood still
watching.
........................Only his eyes
showed the keen engagement
of his lecherous mind, only the brick
could withstand the heat created
from withholding his soul from hell.

Impetuous

The Bible is packed with people
I would aspire to be , the meek
who follow as wordless as sheep
ideal, unattainable and boring
as an airbrushed model.

The only one who ever woke me
was impetuous Peter leaping
from the boat to walk on water
before the switch in his brain
clicked like a cartoon character
and he sank beneath the waves.

That is the guy I want to be
launching myself from ledge
to ledge like a mountain goat
sure that my senses will save me,
a hawk plumetting towards rocks
to grab at pigeons. The first
to grab a sword and lop the odd
ear off to save someone I believe in.

The Bible is full of people
humble, meek and grey
so very few like Peter
as bright as a summer's day.

Oh, Ben, that is impressive. A very nice poem. There N has the same appeal Oskar's recent poem. Though quieter in tone, they are both leaping and ready for action.

Happy to see someone enjoy this idea. I saw it on another forum and thought there may be a few poet's who enjoy this sort of thing.

Yep, that was a good use of the word.
