Come October,
crops are untender.
Fields laid to winter,
see their litter.

..................... same pattern each year

Yet my yearning seedlings
wring necks to moons
crave roots,
and shoots.

.................... yay, a dancing flower

Plant, or regret
again the gift sent.
Guilt needs spent,
priceless come Lent.

................... no batteries

Planted in Autumn -
may your excuses ripen
into swaying lies
at your xmas surprise.

................... tattered box

Grin to convey
the festive envy.
Santa's not seen
'til the full moon turns green.
War does not determine who is right - only who is left. (Bertrand Russell)
