The Dripping Tap

On the tap-end a
Water droplet is forming
Imperceptibly -
Its tiny globe glistening
And its meniscus
Starting to stretch under the
Weight of its water -
But for this brief moment it
Hangs defiantly
Above the sink's hard steel -
Lit up like molten metal.

Is the "drip" software enhanced, I see a lense flair?

Thanks Kris. The boy done good.

Yes, this is a cosmetically enhanced drip. Well spotted.

What's a "lense flair" when it's at home?

"lense flair" is a photoshop filter, or probably a standard on most graphic design packages, it's making the:

tiny globe glisten.

Also love the molten effect, I'm presuming it's an effect?

Very "effective"

Good one. Great picture and poem suite. Only problem is 'Above the sink's hard steel -'. I'd change the sink, not the poem. Still, really good.

Dave. Who can mend tap's etc.....

Kris - I'm told that there is no molten effect or lens flair, only a touch of 'sunlight'. Good old Paintshop.

Dave who can mend taps,

You spotted the fatal flaw. The tap which inspired this poem is actually at City College Norwich in a tiny room where we have our kettle. The sink there is a stainless steel jobby - hence the "hard steel". However, Tom took the picture in our bathroom - hence the porcelain and limescale.

On my poetry site, this poem gets loads of hits because people put "dripping tap" into Google and it comes up pretty high. However, it's not a poem they're after - but a plumber.

Would you like to buy some ad space - ha, ha?

This is a great photo--the tap and the water seem like they are made out of the same material.
Very nice match to the poem. It all comes together when you can read it, see it and of course hear it on audio all at the same time.
Multi-sensory art!
Cheers,
Kim
