Different time of day. The wave is actually the same colour with the white water shaded a touch more. Odd nudge to the rock and splashes etc,

Not sure if the photo is doing justice to your painting JJ. The luminosity of the wave catches the eye, but the definition of the cliff is lost in shadow.

Thanks, mac

The cliffs are in shadow as the sun is just making its early morning move on the storm clouds.
I wasn't sure how much to reveal of their strata or colour so I've revised the nearest cliff to hint at both. (posting later)
With the sun's position they are still steeped in shadow. Also revised the wave a bit, adding some extra highlights.

Thanks again for coming in and commenting. Appreciated.

Ps I'll get the camera setting right this time. :)

Here's the revision.

The highlights aren't quite so bright and some of the lowlights are not quite showing. There's more of a contrast
in real life. I am using a Polaroid iE X29. It's ok for fun.

The background clouds are darker than showing, for distance. Kind of misty.

I think the contrasts in V1 are more effective, though as you say some of the lowlights are not quite showing in V2. The luminosity of the wave is impressive.

Delighted you liked the eye of the wave.

The light on the horizon is an interesting aspect of V3. Interesting too, that the focus in V1 carries the most drama.

Thanks, mac

I've tweaked it a bit more, adjusting the wave modelling again. I'll leave it there, I think.

Thanks for the input.
