Your comment is more than encouraging because I'm experimenting and learning
all sorts of new techniques. I'm currently in the middle of my biggest oil canvas yet,
and I'm looking forward to where it will take me. Really appreciate the reply.

Looks very skilful already to me.
I'm missing the boating lake, though?

I'm enjoying oils immensely, finding them easier than acrylics. I think it's the colour tones that does it for me.

The boat lake is an acrylic representation of the old style boating lakes often found on private estates.
I've seen a few on my travels and they're always surrounded by attractive garden shrubbery. Because of
the protection offered by the trees they look dead calm, throwing deep realistic reflections. I was attempting
to capture something along those lines. I appreciate the feedback, though, because your question has me thinking.

Delighted you noted the depth. It's a small scape, roughly the size of my laptop screen.

Thanks for dropping in.

PS I don't mind negative comments and constructive advice btw

Pleased you liked this one. I was so tempted to add some more but I've been told to stop fiddling and accept that a piece is finished.
I always want to give it that extra nudge.

The boat lake is not of the traditional variety. It's an example of one of the small lakes often associated with large estates.
They are well protected by shrubbery and trees to create flat calm water for reflections. They are quiet and peaceful places.
If the water isn't apparent I'd really appreciate the nod. Honestly!

Maybe I shouldn't have removed the boat house.
