Touraine
In Tours, the architecture looms
above the grey slate roofs of town
when you reach the cathedral. And
the grey cloud overhead, that walks
the sky a little eastward seems
somehow connected to the stone
the pigeons favor.
The low-roofed town is also grey.
Its jumbled habitations all
accept the rain that’s on its way.
The morning bells ring out again:
it’s 8 a.m. Across the square
go mostly adults now. A tree
or two climbs upward. But the birds
prefer this structure.
Touraine
Perhaps the elderly need to believe in miracles John and pigeons have a better view from a cathedral. Well, that's my rationale Of course, living in Wales, I have an acceptance of grey and rain, though sunshine does renew a belief in miracles (well, a transient one).

Greetings John,
We like your salutation to MacPhil (^v^)
Members of the Coo-mmunity enjoyed reading this poem. I think we mentioned we came through Tours on a family holiday; it had been a long drive from wherever we came off the ferry to the converted barn Mr T had booked for a fortnight. He was so tired on our arrival that he slumped over the steering wheel, proclaimed, Well, ici nous sommes!, and laughed through his nose for a good few minutes. Such were the wonders of travel with Mr T (^v^)
Anyway, it's pleasant to stop off this time and take a look around. We like the description through S1, the medley of greys. Ooh, pigeons! W.-B. is particularly pleased at this point. We like S2 as well, with its ringing out of bells, trees, birds. Nothing to suggest yet, but we'll return if we think of anything (^v^)
Cheerie,
