Are you confident that confidence
is well and truly fenced in
that wild horses wouldn't drag it out?

Or the bushel you've been using
as a bright light hiding place
does not cast a single shadow of a doubt?

And what about the rose
the one you hope that no-one knows about
the bony one beneath this very table?

Do you fear some birdie blabbing
'bout that kitty in the bag? Then,
my advice to you, my friend, is see a Bogle.

With our plain, capacious hats
we keep all manner under wraps
and our lips are both professionally sealed;

the lack of fingernails
are a sign we shall not fail you
and no Bogle's been to Gath, I can reveal.

We offer reasonable rates
none of which would tempt the Fates
and our agents are conveniently local.

So, if you are in trouble
in a pickle, then it's simple:
when you wish to keep a secret, tell a Bogle.

Are you confident that confidence is well and truly fenced in
that wild horses wouldn't drag it out?

Or the bushel you've been using as a bright light hiding place
has not cast a single shadow of a doubt?

And what about the rose the one you hope that no-one knows about
the thorny one beneath this very table?

Do you fear the tittle-tattle of a skeletonic rattle from a cupboard?
Then I think you need a Bogle.

With our plain capacious hats we'll keep your [censored] under wraps
and our lips are all professionally sealed;

a lack of fingernails are a sign we shall not fail you
and no Bogle's been to Gath, I can reveal.

We've competitive rates none of which would tempt the Fates
and our agents are conveniently local.

So, if you are in trouble, in a pickle, then it's simple:
when you wish to keep that secret, tell a Bogle.

about the kitty in the bag?
If that's the case then you should get yourself a Bogle.

With our plain capacious hats
we'll keep your [censored] under wraps

by lacking finger nails
we have never ever failed
and no Bogle's been to Gath, I can reveal.

We've competitive rates
that would never tempt the fates
and our agents are conveniently local.

When you find yourself in trouble,
in a pickle, then it's simple;
if you wish to keep a secret, tell a Bogle.

Nicely sold Not. I think it was the lack of finger nails that convinced (presumably not tortuously removed). Does stanza 6 require a capital?

Thanks mac,

Does stanza 6 require a capital?
You caught me, I was in too many minds over the punctuation so failed to decide.

Maybe
and our lack of fingernails
means we've never ever failed

?

Regards, Not

I feel that the three liner break brought more focus and the chimes were fun. The two liner feels more prosaic.
Might some little birdie blab
about the kitty in the bag?
I think that is more visual, grounded and playful.
