Hello,

It's been a while. I seem to be making a frequent appearance of late and just wondered where the old crowd had gone?

Who's around and who's not?

Obviously if you're not, you won't reply.

Maybe you will?

To old poetic pals

Kind of keeping an eye on the place, but it's not what it was.

Not as active as I once was. I call by once in a while, see it ticking over.
We fray into the future, rarely wrought
Save in the tapestries of afterthought.

Strangely enough, I dropped in yesterday to see what was going on for the first time in ages.

Really liked your Danish farming ancestry poem by the way, Kris.

Good to see a few survivors. Tis a shame though (says he who abandoned ship long ago)

Life just gets in the way. Plus I think i'm more of a seasonal poet. When the dark nights start drawing in, it's time!

Oh and cheers Nash.

Ah yea, the magpie is hovering about too - in a sort of lurking manner so far.
May make herself visible. Soon. Soon?

Be seeing y'all.

I've become pretty semi-detached too, I'm afraid. I pop in from time to time, to see what the likes of Mac and JJ, maybe a few others, are up to. Quiet, isn't it?

Well there are a few blasts from the past on this thread so let me be another one... occassional popper in .... contribution close to zero but I did like and comment on Kris' Danish farmers.

Well, I peek now and again, too.
Not writing these days but always wanting to...

I miss you people and the place.

All well with me David.

Isn't it interesting how the ability or the desire to write ebbs and flows... at least that is what it seems as contributors come and go

Nice to see some familiar names, hello!

It seems we all still gravitate occasionally.

I wonder how Brian is doing?

As a new member, I'm curious to know WHY people seem to be drifting away from the forum. Is it just because the regulars are writing less?

When I signed up, I waited for weeks to hear from Cam that I was registered. If everyone who signs up has to wait weeks, that may be one of the reasons the forum isn't very active.

Let me add that right now the Experienced forum is top-heavy with men. More women are needed in that forum.

One thing I have found is that most of the members are writing basically normal (i.e., mostly accessible and certainly not experimental) poetry, and I think that's great.

A similar thinning-out has happened on Eratosphere. Around 2000, they had two or three times as many people participating. Now they are down to a handful of poets.
Signature info:
If you don't like the black theme, it is easy to switch to a lighter color. Just ask me how.
If I don't critique your poem, it is probably because I don't understand it.
