Why has the hands down thread been locked?
I didn't know double identities were a common feature at PG. It could be viewed as an interesting exercise, I suppose,
and I can understand how a long time member might wish to disguise their identity to receive raw and honest feedback,
but you can't help but feel a bit duped. This becomes problematic if the alter ego generates disenchantment, especially
if a separate relationship accompanies the secondary personality.
Don't like to see this kind of infighting.

Those of us who have been here a while are aware of who penguin is - I don't suppose it occurred to anyone that it would confuse later comers.
The locking done by bodkin because he felt a) Ray had already indicated he didn't want to discuss the poem further and so wouldn't benefit from further comments on the poem and b) the thread was in danger of becoming a heated political discussion, which is inappropriate here and never ends well on the internet anyway.
I hope there are no hard feelings anywhere.

Rosencrantz: What are you playing at? Guildenstern: Words. Words. They're all we have to go on.
