He finds himself to be subtle, shrewd and witty.
He spent ages trying to finish a pantoum.
He thinks pantoums are sterile and pointless.
His judgements are swift, summary and ruthless,
and he cannot be persuaded he is mistaken.
Those who get it have got it right,
those who don't are fools. He often says
why would anyone want to talk about Andrew Motion?
Nobody, not even Craig Raine, has such small hands.
