Horizon
Meet me by a mist around the sea
Where greenery will meet the watered sky
I lift a tall glass brimming steadily
Covering all my sand in red wine.
Meet me where the hunter preys and sparks
Where shadows in the heavens guide their motions
My pictographic, hieroglyphic marks
Constellations stringing our emotions
Meet me by the clouds that hide this moon,
Where souls in caves will crave the shining sun
this star, to tease an aged and caged baboon,
these stale minds in a vat have stirred and spun.
Meet me by the silence of a steel drum,
Where war is waged with quivers full of toxin
For if one cups their ear they'll hear the hum
of death, a hissing perfume of destruction.
Meet me by the water’s broken lace
Where oil strands and spillage go to waste
Where cold and desolate creation tastes
What squanders us to dust, without a face.
