Hello David and Macavity (The Mystery Cat!),

Thanks for the welcomes. I apologise for such a short first post!

I'm happy to have found this site, with its workshop for beginners. I've been writing poetry for a few years, but I can't claim to know very much about it. Still, I'm keen to learn and I've been reading with great interest Poets' Graves' 'Glossary of Poetic Terms'. I've also perused the forum guidelines and I look forward to attempting my first comments once I've found my feet, so to speak.

My best wishes,
A.

A hearty welcome to PG, Alex. It's very nice to see you here and I look forward to reading your work.

Every member, bar none, started at the very beginning, a very good place to start, so join in and enjoy the fun. :)

All the best

JJ

Thank you, JJ.

Yes, here I am with my trusty trident. And just outside the picture, I have my colony of seals. We all agree, the very beginning is a very good place to start! I've prepared my first comment, so we'll see how it goes.

My best wishes,
Alex
