I have been married for 48 years. My wife is a Tasmanian, aged 68. We’ve had 3 children: ages in 2005-40, 35 and 28. I am 70, a Canadian who moved to Australia in 1971 and have written 3 books--all available on the internet. I retired from part-time teaching in 2004 and full-time teaching in 1999 after 32 years in classrooms as a teacher and another 18 as a student. In addition, I have been a member of the Baha’i Faith for 55 years. Bio-data: 6ft, 235 lbs, eyes brown, hair-grey, Caucasian. An indigenous Tasmanian? I thought they were wiped out by the convicts?

The last full-blood Aboriginal died out in about 1876. There are, of course, many indigenous Tasmanians with partial(1/2, 1/4, 1/16th and 1/32nd, etc) indigenous blood. My wife is not among them. As you may know indigenality has become quite a complex question. But then, if you and I go back in our own families, say, 30 generations, you get something like a billion people..now that's another brain teaser. I shall say no more. Thanks for the response. There are probably two reasons I overload the system. One is a lifetime of applying for jobs and my posting is a leftover from those job application days. The 2nd reason for my type of posting is to counter the endless introductory pieces that tell me nothing about the person introducing themselves. You know the sort of thing: (a) the hellos, (b) the nice to be heres and (c) the see ya's all later. Some people ere on the side of too little and some ere on the side of too much. I guess I'm in the latter category.

I note you are presently employed as a "writer/poet" in Georgetown, Tasmania. Perhaps you're familiar with the English emigré John Bilston, who edited a "Last Poems" there in the late 1990's?
