I shall have to upgrade the forum soon. It will be done in the next week or so and the forum will be offline during that time.
If all goes smoothly it shouldn't take too long.
I don't think there will be many noticeable changes, it is mainly to improve the security of the forum. Hopefully it may reduce the number of spam registrations we get.
