The Cement Garden - Ian McEwan

Was Albert Camus a better goalkeeper than George Orwell? Have your say here.

Just finished it, loved it!

I was given it as a gift, it's not the sort of thing that I'd usually go for, much to modern. I know it's thirty odd years old now but I've read embarrassingly little fiction post 1970. The few that I have read, apart from this one, I haven't really liked.

So has anyone got any suggestions for some of these new-fangled stories that they have now?

Oh, just remembered, I liked Ridley Walker too, that was really good.

What an idiot! (me not you, Brian) how the hell did I miss that. Cheers Bri, looks like I've got a lot of cross-referencing with amazon to get on with.
