Re: Are you Experienced?

I don't post poetry here any more, but here's a possibility: just let the poet state what level of critique they require, with specific questions for critters if they wish.

Re: Enemy

Greetings John, Members of the Coo-mmunity have just popped in to collect a few of our poems for review, so we thought we'd take a look at this one while we're here (^v^) It's a fierce title. And the imperatives that pop up throughout are pretty fierce too. We wonder about the significance of this '...

Greetings, John!

Ooh, thank-coos for the explanation. Yes, it helps a lot. Now we understand the poem much better, while continuing to appreciate its structure and imagery (^v^)

Re: Asymptote

Greetings, John! Now, 'Asymptote'. Members of the Coo-mmunity were not familiar with this word, so off we went to Prof. Wiki, who advised as follows: "In analytic geometry, an asymptote of a curve is a line such that the distance between the curve and the line approaches zero as one or both of ...

Re: Garbage Men

This is interesting, John. The rubbish lorry turns up somewhat after dawn here at the moment, but that'll change with the shortening days. The men (we've never spotted a female collector) do a fair bit of manual work. The rubbish has its own garage, so they come and go, always leaving everything tid...

You are welcome, John! (^v^)

Dovecotes are so pretty. We wish we could have one in our garden here, but we doubt the committee would allow this. We shall have to form a coo-mmittee and prevail! (^v^)

Re: A Brace of Angels

This is interesting, John. Coo and I don't know where we are, but we enjoyed our journey through the poem. All the rain adds a certain tone, we think. The description of the orderly graves is very well rendered. Now, 'columbaria', these are the little partitions for ashes, yes? We looked up 'arrosoi...

The Dirigible Balloon again!

Members of the Coo-mmunity are happy to report that today I joined John and Morph in the balloon basket (^v^)

The poem is here: https://dirigibleballoon.org/poem/Picnic-in-Autumn

Re: Question Song

Greetings, John! Hooray for excitability! The bros and I were probably raised more sternly than a lot of children, slapped about, thrown into swimming pools, put to work early, etc. I remember a teacher being quite shocked when I mentioned being slapped at home! For me, it was normal, of course. All...

Thank you, Fliss and Coo - for your lovely response poem in particular ! I’d not thought of sending this off - what a nice idea! I shall look into it. Cheerie, John You're welcome, John. I'm sorry it wasn't accepted; perhaps it just needed to be more specific here and there. I found it exciting, bu...

Re: Oneiromachia

Greetings, John! Members of the Coo-mmunity confess, we hadn't heard of the Oneiromachia before. However, I'd heard of the Oneirocritica, having copyedited a book about them for Ashgate, with W.-B's help. Perhaps this is something similar? We clicked on the link, but the website requires us to sign ...
