Dreamscape

dreamscape (colour).jpg 90x90cm Hmmm. Not sure this one is working. I wanted a dreamscape (is there such a word  ) as opposed to a seascape. I wanted cloudy water with movement rather than waves, but I feel it is too white. I am also aware that the stones (I've PVA'd half my side garden onto t...

Re: Graphics and Guitar, YouTube Slide Show

Hey Ross. Some great pieces here :) Problem is, they roll past before I can get a good look at them. So feedback is proving difficult. The music is really nice too. However, (and this is just my own preference) I feel each painting should have it's own music. (If you intend to set your art to music)...

Sorry for coming back late to your reply since I messed up my password. :D Hey, not a bother. Your comment is such a compliment, and this forum gives me a lot of encouragement that sent me to a drawing class. I know I am still new at drawing and wondering if there is a place for beginners, then I w...

Re: You never bring me flowers

Hey Churinga. Welcome. :) There's not many visitors to this part of the woods. OK. These canvases are 20x20cm and yes, they are seriously heavy with paint. That was my intention. All three were painted along side each other and so they should (and do) match re consistency. I think abstraction goes s...

Re: At The Launderette (revision)

There's a sad, reflective quality, as she recalls all those dreams and intentions, all those lost days, days that are gone forever. And so she sits, quietly sipping her sloe gin, sober and acquiescent. Yep, that's what I got from this. Thanks JJ, for saying just what I wanted to say but couldn't fi...

Re: Eye eye

The funny thing about painting with only one lamp working is the loss of depth (stereo disparity). I would often miss my mark and put a huge splodge of paint anywhere but where I intended. To get round this I would bring my face close to the canvas then guide the tip of the brush to the general int...

Much to like here Ross. It's late. I'm tired and I'm ready for my bed so rather than explain what did and did not work for me I found it easier to chop a few line brakes and words and offer you my suggestions to take or toss. Here you go. All offered in good spirit :) Hours Ago Toddlers gallop throu...

Hey, lovely to see you around again Lake. :D Jeez, you've come on leaps and bounds. I remember your first tentative efforts. You had some lovely stuff but this is a completely different ball game. This is stunning. :) A wonderfully tranquil scene. I love the subtle teal addition. A confident, beauti...

Hi Tristan. I like the idea, Me too :) However, I’m not feeling this one. It could be about a shih tzu dressed in its latest winter jumper. I think it needs a little more of a back story. A hint to what you had and what you have lost. Sorry to be so negative. :| In the distance, I saw love  Your lov...

I wouldn't change a thing. New news, same radio. New cup of coffee, same taste. Love these opening lines They say milk contains sugars but it tastes like bones. The news announcer speaks in a rush as if we're all drowning. I turn it off, now it's almost silent, a few birds distantly calling. My pen ...

Aha! I see you have moved into your geometrical abstract phase! It feels to me as if a bit of a fight is going on. I think Red is winning and is using the kind of hammers used to play vibes. Yellow is wisely holding back.   Very enjoyable Thanks Seth. Chuffed it raised a smile. :) C...
