Scenery
I emerge from a dense wood and remark with wonder at a solitary precipice some twelve feet in front of me. The terrain is steep and rocky but at the edge lay lavender bushes and a patch of grass. As I stand in the grass, I take my first look at the rays of a new day in the cloudless sky, which casts...

Re: William Shakespeare is dead
Willy Shaksper was a fun-ny man hyphens indicate a separation of syllables thus funny is fun ny. He im-proved English and did all he can To shake a spear at everyone's countenance. But my mind to his plays is ambivalent I’m looking for the English equivalent. So called because students do not tradit...

Challenging privilege
Long ago strode a man of confidence. When I came before his path I stood aside. Then I noticed that others did so as well. I saw the man of confidence yet again, The man again strode into my path. I dared to see if he would stand aside. He shouted obscenities! Nobody had the gall to refuse to move f...

Loss of Privilege
In every society lie the people of immunity They form the rules for the game. It doesn’t matter really if to their shame, They hold themselves aloft with impunity. What goes up must come down. Tall spires do crumble. The Ozymandias of today stands eternal, But tomorrow comes down through caring infe...

Re: progress and regression revised
after much consideration i have decided this poem didn't have the intended impact, and that i will be writing an all new poem on this topic that should solve these issues. It doesn't appear that there is a way to trash this, but really i understand the objections to this.

again i can neither empathise with you or disagree with you, unless you can be more specific. Exactly how has the country headed down the wrong path, or how exactly has the conservative party malfunctioned.

Re: Vote Conservative!
perhaps you could be more specific then, because at no point in the poem did i infer the issue of physical illness. it seemed more like a lab or coalition voter complaining about the election.

Re: progress and regression
That would only apply if i agreed with your definition of christianity. The only time that it becomes an issue is when my opponents have no reputable authorities in their corner, so they turn to the "ultimate authority", and i take their word for it because the religious right shouts the l...

Re: progress and regression revised
i told everyone to look at the original poem for context, that should answer most of your questions. without knowing what the topic is about, it was never intended that the poem would introduce the topic. please ask more questions after viewing the original.

my point is that while i tend to agree with your statements, i do not have the same fondness for hyperbole as you do. You make the uk sound like a banana republic, but i've lived in and heard of places much worse.

i know it says not to post more then 1 per day, but often it takes several days to get another post. If it takes me several days or even weeks to get inspired, can't i post a few of my stuff if i don't plan to for a while after that?

People argue to me that Jesus isn't properly represented by the anti-gay movement. But i don't believe, and i don't care. So in this instance, i am assuming for the sake of art that the religious right is correct about jesus, and his hatred against gay's, and what that means. please see the origina...

Re: progress and regression
It’s what the scions of the prince of peace can’t understand. That part was irony, the people i'm referring to resort to preaching about the apocalypse and damming their enemies to hell whenever they loose. But those that dwell beneath the raptors wings, Are cast in cruel shadow, And like the ancest...

There is something important happening in the United States, my homeland. The Supreme Court is on the threshold of legalizing gay marriage across the entire country. This decision should decide whether gays are to be a protected class or whether the country will maintain the status quote. It’s not ...

Dead Tired
Nothing is left but a dull ache. The lack of sleep ages me a century every minute. I shuffle about my house like a mummy, waiting to go back to my coffin. I wonder if this is what it feels like to be dead. But the dead, in their rest, never get this tired. for i greatly fear that should a spider inv...

first of all, i feel your pain. I too was tested in primary school. they never could decide what exactly to do with me, and i was always shunted between advanced and remedial classes. In one they would tell me i was destined for greatness, in the other we felt as if we had no future. i get the feeli...

But I also observed that when it came to issues of identity and orientation, show hosts and their guests took pains t...

excellent! sounds like it could be a good song, perhaps if it were accompanied by some sort of guitar or perhaps a banjo.
