Re: Exceeded Bandwidth

Thanks for the heads up. Yet another bot crawler through the site. The web hosts have banned some more IP addresses. We had increased our bandwidth etc which should be plenty. I just need to keep my eyes on it..I've been slacking..

Re: Exceeded Bandwidth

I'm not sure about the hidden forums. The bots crawl the whole PG site which is quite large. I had considered stopping registrations. Thanks for having a think about it!

Exceeded Bandwidth

It's happened again. We increased our bandwidth to 75GB a couple of months ago. 'Real' people use a max 13GB per month. The rest is bots/spiders etc. Yesterday one bot used 54GB. Every time it happens I ban the offending IP addresses/bots whatever. I don't know what else to do to be honest. If anyon...

Re: Epic fail

Ok good. Thanks for letting me know. The upgrade was actually successful but then something went wrong. Web hosts were going to revert to a back uo but I think they managed to sort the problem without losing anything. Forum is showing as upgraded so thats good.

Epic fail

Apologies for the outage on the site last night and this morning. It was due to a failed upgrade. Hopefully all is ok now. It’s possible some posts were lost but I’m not sure. Sorry if that is the case.
As always, please let me know if there are any problems.
Thanks

Re: Bandwidth issues

The name come from the main website ..www.poetsgraves.co.uk ! The forum is not linked to the main site but have a look at it. The name will be obvious then. Cam set it up several years ago and it still has up to 1700 unique visitors a day - lots of school and university students look at it for the g...

Re: Bandwidth issues

Upgrade done, logo done...I was going to get the old pg colours back but it’s too time consuming so that will have to wait. I have made some changes to the bandwidth use and so far it has been cut in half so we should avoid problems at the end of the month. I will keep an eye on it but please email ...

Re: Bandwidth issues

We are having bandwidth issues due to bot activity. I have done some investigating and have banned some unspecified IP addresses. I will keep an eye on the stats to see if that has worked. We shouldnt need to increase our bandwidth package as we have more than enough for the normal use of the forum....

Re: Notifications not working on iphone

Hi

I've had a look at the forum support and this was a known issue but should have been fixed. I've checked the file concerned and it looks correct to me. Will keep looking for a fix. Seems to have been a problem for various mobile devices.

Thanks

Re: Upgrade

I've just uploaded the new styles. Users can choose whichever they want. I may upload some others. That has been easy. I need to work out how to get the PG logo onto the header - bit tricky. BBcode is another matter - can't do that at the moment. Will leave it for now. Am away for a couple of days b...

Re: Upgrade

I have uploaded an 'extension' which allows users to alter the font size. Can you give it a go? Go to your user control panel and board preferences. You can say 'yes' to alter the font and then choose the size. See what you think. Was very easy to install and I can delete it if it's not useful.

Re: Upgrade

To be honest I have investigated and it doesn't seem to be easy. I used to be able to alter fonts etc in the styles templates in the admin panel but this is not possible on this version. If I alter font size it may alter all text which I don't necessarily want. If you increase the size using your br...
