Re: First painting 2021

Thanks Perry. Chuffed you like this. I can't tell if it is a painting of a beach or a moor -- and that confusion is my fault, not yours, since I live in America and thus live with a different topography than Brits do. It's most definitely a moor, but i can see how you see a seascape. My sister saw t...

Re: First painting 2021

Really like this Pauline. Conveys a wind-blown winter's day, but one, as long as I'm geared up in warm scarf /hat/gloves, I like to be out in. Less people around. The sweep of sky, the rock breaking the horizontal, the definition of the foreground were elements that hooked my eye. :D Thanks Mac. Th...

Re: Change These Women (Re-write) (Free Verse)

Hi Poet. I ain't gonna lie to you. I don't like this. I find it derogatory toward women. Not only that. It's not even poetic. It's a rant. Not satire. There's no humour, irony......... I was inspired by D.H. Lawrence on his essay "Do Women Change?" I know it seems like I am being prejudice...

Re: THE CLOSING & REOPENING OF THIS FORUM

Cam and Nicky. Huge, huge thank you from me. I know I've been a pain in the arse on several occasions and you have been massively supportive each and every time. I joined PG a total novice. Knew nothing about poetry. Thought a few rhyming words at the end of a sentence made a poem. I have learned so...

Hi Trev. Feel really bad about saying this but .... it did nowt for me. Slow, much like your dig. I was bored. There was very little to keep me interested. I feel if you wrote this in the present tense and shaved some of the waffle it would make for a better read. A careless nudge sends settled ash ...

Really like elements of this Pauline: the colour and vigour of the sky; the spikiness and texture of the foreground; the curve of land and the perspective of sky in relation to that curve. Yay. Thanks Mac. :D What blues are you using in your sky? What size and kind of brushes are you using? Did you...

Agreed, though 'craft' will always nag in my mind, Doesn't nag at my mind Mac. Probably because I'm not overly clued up on the subject. I kinda just go with what I like. I've not studied Art, or been to college so my mind is free to explore. My studio partner who has a degree in Art told me ...

Thanks for taking a look Pauline. I do have fun with painting. :) That@s what it's all about Mac. Pleasure. If you ain't enjoying it then why bother. Hi Trevor. I love the idea, and the fun you could have with this. At the moment, for me, the opening stanza reads like a fat birds shopping list. There were some fine lines that stood out for me. a biscuit welcomes tea like a brother, warps to its weight, but soon it droops Only the daring or foolis...

Perry. If you keep this in the first person, I feel it's a much stronger piece. Is the part where we become friends? After the love has died and our kisses turn to texts which trail off because I am now someone you never miss. I remember the days you couldn’t live without me. Perhaps I should be gla...

Re: Mac's Watercolour Attempts December

Mac. I love the innocence to this painting, You did a great drawing of Dyffyn House . You painted a splendid sky and some foreground. Touched some of the house, sat back and thought "Yeah" ! Nuff said. You managed to control your colours. No bleeding. That is way more than I could ever do....

Re: Mac's Watercolour Attempt

Great attempt Mac. Watercolour is the most unforgiving medium. I've tried and failed many times to control this bitch without success. OK. The tree is top heavy and seriously out of proportion. I ask this with tongue on cheek (as a non artist) Is it an abstract bunny rabbit down by the water passing...

Hey Perry. I like this. I feel it would be better if you kept it in first person throughout.
